Seo tips - improve your search engine ranking
There are a number of quick fixes that can be done to improve Search engine optimisation for your website.
1. Make the title of your page describe your keyword/phrase
This is probably the most important part of your website page so make it count. The title is what is seen in the blue bar at the top of the browser and in html code will be between the tags <title></title>. Calling it home page or Acme Ltd will do nothing for search engine rankings so make it match a keyword.
2. Edit your content
Search engines love good content so give it to them. If you want to be found for the phrase “pink widgets†then write some content on pick widgets. If you can't provide enough content on pink widgets then search engines will assume you don't know enough about it to rank highly.
3. Get websites linking to your site
If you have enough quality links from other industry websites to your site then search engines presume you are an authority on the subject and rank you highly. It could also drive natural traffic to your site.
4. Make sure you have no error pages
If a search engine starts spidering your site and hits an error, like a human user, it will probably go elsewhere - so fix it.
5. Change content regularly
Search engines love new content so change or add to it regularly, particularly on your home page. A good way of doing this is to have regularly update news section, even better provide RSS feeds.
