Usability tips
You've got people to your website, now you need to get them to easily work their way around the site viewing your products and services:
There are a number of quick fixes that can be done to improve usability for your website.
1. Underline and blue text links
The classic underlining and blue of text links is a universally recognised method so stick to it.
2. Keep the navigation consistent
Users can easily get confused if you change navigation and can get lost. Make the navigation the same on every page so that every main page can be found form every page.
3. Add a site map
If your user does get lost if they can find the sitemap they will be able to get to where they want - also great for search engines.
4. Topload content
We are all pushed for time so make sure your get your message across in the first paragraph, your reader may click elsewhere before getting to the bottom of the page.
5. Use lists and bullet points
Eyes are drawn to bullet points and numbered lists so use them to list the most important points, products or services.
